When it comes to health care, Matt believes that each patient has unique circumstances that should be taken into consideration when establishing a plan of care. As health care providers, he believes that his mission is to arm patients with evidence-based treatment options that afford them the knowledge and guidance to make the best possible decision for their particular circumstance. This is especially true in the field of pediatrics, where parents want the best for their children and look to health care providers as a trusted source of guidance. To be viewed as that trusted source is the reason why Matt is in health care.
Clinically, the majority of Matt’s experience and interests are in emergency medicine and procedural intervention in acute injuries. Since joining the surgical team, he has taken an interest in chest wall deformities, and is involved with the bracing clinic for pectus carinatum patients. At this stage in his career, his interests have evolved outside of the clinical realm to include the growth and development of other Advanced Practice Providers, with an emphasis on leadership, mentorship, and modeling the delivery of excellent patient care. As a sports enthusiast, his hobbies include: football, wrestling, and predictive sports analytics. He also participates in sideline coverage at local high school football games in Spring/Aldine ISD.
